Volunteerism

To date, employees have volunteered more than 100,000 hours on behalf of PNC Grow Up Great.

PNC Grow Up Great offers a wide range of volunteer activities and opportunities. Whether reading to children, planting gardens, painting classrooms, providing technology support or teaching financial education classes to parents and staff, employees with a wide range of interest, can take an active role in PNC Grow Up Great.

A robust internal communications campaign, coupled with a generous 40-hour-per-year paid-time-off policy, easy-to-implement procedures, unprecedented technology systems and innovative volunteer incentives, fully engage and excite employees.

PNC’s Grants for Great Hours, a program whereby employees who volunteer 40 or more hours at one early education center receive a $1,000 grant to present to that center, has sparked an extraordinary volunteer participation rate. Groups of employees may also volunteer as a team and may apply for a grant of up to $3,000. Between March 2004-2009 PNC's employees volunteered a total of over 100,000 hours on behalf of PNC Grow Up Great. Additionally, over 110 employees received grants totaling more than $117,000 for distribution to local preschool centers.
